Concept/
Landmines and explosive remnants of war currently contaminate 60 countries — hindering agriculture, paralyzing communities, damaging lives and infrastructure. An undeniable obstacle to any positive development of the land. This project proposes a modular off-grid housing and working unit for a squad of four mine-clearing personnel, their robots and drones.
Design/
Five cross-laminated timber modules, insulated and clad in corrugated steel, flexibly connected to each other. Each module stands on a steel hydraulic leg system — universally adaptable to any terrain, versatile and robust. The moderate weight of the timber structure allows truck transport to any location.
The unit provides a complete functional set: bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, living and dining room, a maintenance and recharge station for clearing equipment, underfloor storage for batteries, water tanks, and supplies. Independent power via solar panels and a fuel generator.
